Toxins ...

I've been doing a lot of research into why my body isn't releasing fat even though I am eating very clean and exercising almost every day.  It has been a frustrating journey to say the least and I think I am finally opening up a window of help for myself.  I've talked before about energy healing and I am a firm believer of it working well to help people reach their full potential.  One of the things that is on that energy healing level is a toxicity group.  Our bodies are thrown toxic waste from every direction these days.  It is in everything we eat, everything we use as cosmetics and in just about everything on the earth.  It is normal and nothing really to be afraid of but if your body isn't functioning on a wonderful level, which mine wasn't, you can easily build up a toxicity in your body that will inhibit you to lose more fat.  It literally locks up your fat cells and doesn't let anything out because your body thinks you are under attack from foreign objects that it doesn't recognize.  Crazy, right?

Some of the ways to release the toxicity build ups are cleanses, another way is to sweat a lot, drink lots of water, stay 'regular' and take vitamins.  All great ways!  Another way is to do it through energy healing, which is the way I've been able to release a lot of toxins.  For one example of mine I have always sweat A LOT especially in my underarms.  Sometimes it was so embarrassing because in warm weather it would soak through my undershirt and my shirt!  I wouldn't want to even raise my arms.  Because of this I always used antiperspirant thinking that would help my problem.  Until I did some research, I had no idea it was actually making things worse.  Antiperspirant has aluminum in it and I have a reaction in my body towards aluminum and it was making my body go crazy and actually just building up the aluminum in my body without getting rid of that foreign object in my body!  So crazy!!  I stopped using my antiperspirant and released the toxicity in my body, started using a natural deodorant and even though I am in the hottest climate I have ever been in, I am not longer sweating through my clothes.  Hooray!  No more embarrassing armpit sweat circles...only a healthier body!

This lead me to research more into what other toxins are in my body inhibiting me from release fat cells...I ran across this great article.  Check it out!

Sabotaging thoughts...

Wow, this article was eye opening!  I love when I find a great article to really help me with the emotional side of my weight struggles.  When I can write them out, figure them out and move past them, I know I am in a better place.  I know that I can leave them as part of my past and stay the healthy person I have worked so hard to become.

Go check out the article HERE.

I know we are all guilty of saying many of these sabotaging thoughts.
Here were a few of mine when I wrote them down.

-- My kids are driving me crazy, I NEED some chocolate.
-- Nobody will know if I eat this if I don't write it down or eat it in front of everyone.
-- I want it so I can have it.
-- I don't want to feel deprived when everyone else is having something.
-- They are eating it, so I can too.
-- I am too tired to work out.
-- I don't have enough time to work out and shower and get everything else done I need to.
-- I am not physically fit enough to do that activity.

Well, guess where those thoughts got me?  Overweight and unhappy in my own skin.  I had to change those thoughts into something that I knew would serve me and my body.  It wasn't easy, I still struggle with some of these thoughts, but I KNOW what I want my body to feel like and feeding it junk and sitting on the couch only makes me feel like junk and to stay on the couch.

I still want sweets sometimes.  I still enjoy them, I just do it every once in a while instead of every day.  I just have a little of something and am satisfied with that.  I do enjoy working out and am always glad I do, some days are just harder than others.  This change of thoughts and actions isn't easy, it takes time and effort, but I am worth it.  YOU are worth it.  We are ALL worth it.

*Enjoy a Beautiful day!!

Weight Threshold...

I have hit my weight threshold, you know the place where people start to notice you are loosing weight and telling you that you look good.  Well, it got me thinking quite a bit about that.  On Sunday, I see the same people just about every week, on a weekly basis.  Most of them don't see me every day, some of them do, but the ones who gave me the most compliments, I haven't seen for several weeks.

At first I thought it might be because I was wearing a pretty pink, springy dress that I hadn't worn in about 3 years, then I thought it was because I felt pretty so I radiated happiness, then I remembered I had lost 13 pounds and my face, arms and stomach were slimmer.  I am sure it has to be a combination of all 3 as to why I got more than 8 compliments in one day when usually I am just passed by in the hall.

Any other time I have tried to release weight, I get to about 160 and that is all my body will do.  I have only been past 160 once in my adult life (that I have tracked my weight.  I never did before my 2nd baby).  But at this point in all of my times of weight loss, I have always started losing the weight in my face and people start to notice...so I call it my weight threshold.  It is a great feeling, yet frustrating at the same time because I wonder why people notice skinnier people, why people compliment me more now that I have lost 13 pounds.  I am happy with my transformation just got me thinking.

Have you noticed a difference in the way people treat you as you are releasing weight? As you get closer to your goal?

Weigh-In, Week 2...

Does anyone else get nervous when they get on the scale at their center?  Even though you have probably weighed yourself already at home and know the results?  Oh, just me?  Gotta figure out how to not get so nervous.

Starting weight ***176 lbs
Week 1 Weigh-In *** 171 lbs
Week 2 WI ** 167 lbs!!
Yahoo, another 4 pounds released forever.  9 pounds total in almost 3 weeks. I had to miss my weigh in right at 2 weeks because my coach was out of town so I had to wait a few extra days.  Either way, I am super excited to be watching the scale go down.  I also lost another 6 inches which equals more than 12 inches lost as well!

Loving the Ideal Protein diet so far!

Before pictures...

These aren't pretty, but I am working on it :).  These pictures are taken in my goal top/shorts for my upcoming triathlon in July.  I want to look really good in these when the time comes and be able to crush my goal of finishing my first sprint triathlon.  Gotta have a goal to keep me motivated to stay totally ON-PLAN!

Weigh-In, week 1...

I could not be more excited.  I have worked really hard for a really long time and seen nothing change on the scale.  I know they say to not let the scale define you, and I don't, but I do want it to reflect my efforts when I KNOW I am not at a healthy weight.  So without further a do...

Starting weight ***176 lbs
Week 1 Weigh-In *** 171 lbs

YAHOO!  I seriously teared up when I saw the number.  I have worked hard for that 5 pounds and I am so happy to release them to never be found again!  Hoping next week puts me back into the 160s!!

My why's of loosing weight...

I think it is important for me to figure out the reasons WHY I want to release this weight.  If I have some really good WHYs, I can come back to them when times are hard. So here is my list of WHY I want to release this extra 35 pounds once and for all!

***I want to keep up with my husband in the fitness department...running 1/2 marathons, doing sprint triathlons and backpacking in the mountains.

***I want to not have my thighs rub together when I walk.

***I want to have more energy to play ball with my kids, to run around when they want to, to ride our bikes together.

***I want to be an example to my children. Not only in eating nutritiously but knowing that we can accomplish hard things if we put our minds to it.

***I want to motivate those around me to not settle for the 'mommy' body that we so often have after having children and spending all of our energies on them and not us.

***I want to be as confident in my body as I pretend to be.

***I want to feel great in my clothes. To not look in the mirror and only see the things I don't like, but to take pride in what I have worked for.

***I want to feel strong, have muscles you can see and be able to do endurance sports easier.

***I want to feel confident and look hot naked ;).

***I want to feel good about my success and know that I CAN DO HARD THINGS!!!

Another cup of cream...

was added to my bucket to make into butter...AHHH.

My whole goal with eating well and exercising every day and most days twice is to lose some weight.  I know it shouldn't be my lifetime goal, but right now it is.  I know I am not at a healthy weight for my body and I know it needs to change but I cannot get it too.  The harder I try, the worse it gets when it doesn't happen.

I have been working out and eating healthy for over 6 weeks now. I was expecting to see SOME kind of loss when I decided to weight myself once a month.  Saturday was my day to weigh-in and BOY was I in for a shock.  Not only had I not lost weight, but I had gained a pound.  BAHHH!!  That made me so mad/frustrated/sad/angry...every emotion.  It makes me feel like somekind of failure to not even lose 1 pound...NOTHING.  It makes me think that all my efforts are not worth it. it takes a lot of time and dedication to work out as much as I have, to eat the foods I eat and for what?  To feel better?  Well I only feel a little better, not enough to keep it up.  So, after lots of tears and praying, I have decided to go to a nutritoinist.  Obviously there is something I am not getting, so made an appointment yesterday and will be going later today.  I will keep you posted on how things go!

I will not give up!
I will not QUIT!!
I will KEEP trying!!!
